THE newly-upgraded Daniva Road in Valelevu, Nasinu, will help reduce congestion by providing a much safer and improved access to the Valelevu Health Centre, LTA head office, factories, warehouses, supermarkets and the Nasinu Town Council all located in the area.
Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) general manager Central Aram Goes said the works on the road included construction of new footpaths, kerbs and channels, dish channels, full reconstruction of the road pavement, new parking bays, and bus bay all resurfaced with a more durable smooth asphalt layer.
He said the construction of the new parking bay from the health centre to the police post would also ensure proper parking access, which would reduce congestion at the intersection.
“The newly-upgraded road will also help manage the increased traffic volume in Nasinu and also cater for the rise in active pedestrian travel with improved footpath and new bus bay allowing the smooth flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic,” Mr Goes said in a statement.
Mr Goes acknowledged the patience of road users during the times of those important works on the 2km Daniva Road links to Nayavumata Road, Naveiwakau Road and Nasinu Road, which would benefit thousands of people.
