A FUNDRAISING campaign to assist secondary school students in the rural areas with undergarments is a project former students of Adi Cakobau School (ACS) are working towards.

Coordinator of the ‘Undie August’ team Judy Saro said this was a project planned from two months ago and would now go until the end of August.

She said the team who were the class of 1996 to 2002 actively supported the project which would greatly benefit students of the various rural areas.

“We would like to go around to the schools and identify students who are in need of this basic item,” she said.

She said the team would be collecting the items till the end of August and will commence with distributions soon after the collections had been sorted out.

Ms Saro has urged the public and various business organizations and NGO’s to come forth and give undergarments for students who were in need of them.

She added the issue had come up to a point where it started to affect students’ dignity and education.
