A MAN is recuperating at the Labasa Hospital’s surgical ward while another was treated and sent home after the duo were allegedly stabbed at a Savusavu nightspot over the weekend.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that the incident took place inside a nightclub in Savusavu on Saturday. Ms Naisoro said the 43-year-old suspect was drinking with a friend when he allegedly attacked the two victims.
“The incident happened at 8.40pm after the 43-year-old suspect stabbed a 30-year-old baker and a disc jockey at the nightclub,” she said.
“While the baker was treated and sent home, the DJ had to be transferred to Labasa Hospital because of his wounds where he is now recuperating.
“Police are continuing investigations into the incident.”
The incident has prompted calls from police on members of the public to be responsible when consuming alcohol.
