FORMER Australian dual international Lote Tuqiri believes the Fiji Airways Drua has what it takes to best counter the Australian teams in this year’s NRC.

Tuqiri and Samu Kerevi arrived in the country yesterday to be part of the Classic Wallabies team to face Fiji Legends as a curtain-raiser to the Drua vs Melbourne Rising on Saturday in Nausori.

The former Wallabies flyer said the Fijians showed their potential last year and had the opportunity to do well again this season.

Tuqiri said the Fijian boys adapted well to the NRC competition last year and would be out to give their best in the opening game on Saturday.

“This NRC team last year showed how much Fiji can do when they are exposed to high quality rugby,” he said. “Hopefully they can do that again on Saturday.”

Tuqiri said he was also looking forward to team up with his former players for the Classic Wallabies.

Meanwhile, Wallabies centre Kerevi who is recovering from an injury is also honoured to be home.

“I am proud to be back home and meet mum and dad after several months and also excited to be part of Classic Wallabies in the NRC opener.”

The game will be held at Ratu Cakobau Park on Saturday.
