FORMER national rep Kini Tubi has predicted a Courts IDC Ba-Nadi final this year.
He said the two western giants had what it took to win the title.
Tubi said for the team to win — players should have the pride for their teams and passion for soccer.
“Most players only play for money and this affect the overall team’s performance,” he said.
“During our time we aleays have the hearts for the teams we represented- money was not a driving factor then.
“For a team to win the IDC, players must have pride for their districts and work together as a team.
“Most players nowdays only play for money and based on the previous games I believe it will be a Ba-Nadi final.”
The former IDC winner said other teams such as Lautoka, Suva and Rewa should not be written off.
“All teams are well prepared for this tournament since it is the last tournament on the Fiji FA 2014 calendar,” said Tubi.
“All games should be treated like a final and the team that maintains discipline and team work will reign at the end.”
The former national defender said the reigning IDC champion would be desperate to win the title after failing to win the Fiji FACT and the BOG.
“Ba will come out firing to secure their first tournament title this year,” Tubi said.
“But they will face tough competition as all teams are gunning for a win.”
Tubi was only 20-years-old when he made his debut for the national team in 1979.
He represented the country for 11 years and has also won the IDC, Fiji Fact, BOG, and national league titles.
