ATHLETICS Fiji chief development officer Joseph Rodan Jr hosted 12 athletes and coaches to a dinner at his home in Lami on Wednesday night.

The athletes — Eugene Vollmer, Aaron Powell, Kameli Ravuci, Petero Veitaqomaki, Malakai Kaiwalu, Mustafa Fall, Kolinio Radrudru, Shawntell Lockington, Elenani Tinai and Makereta Naulu were also given their uniforms.

“It is a good sign,” he said.

“We came together and had our last team briefing before we departed for the Commonwealth Games.

“All the hard work has been done and giving them a final briefing and they spent time with their families.”

Rodan said the competition would be tough but he had asked the athletes to perform their best.

“It was a good team bonding,” he said

“The team got back from Gold Coast on Monday so they had a competition on Tuesday while others took time off and visited their families before they departed with Team Fiji.

The competition starts on Wednesday.
