FOUR police officers were rushed to the Labasa Hospital last Friday morning after a road accident.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the accident happened at Soasoa, outside Labasa Town area when the bus, carrying members of the police band collided with a cane truck.
She said the band was on their way to Namuka in Macuata to perform at a school passing out parade.
The cane truck was travelling in the opposite direction and the sugarcane hit the side of the bus which resulted in the injuries of our officers.
“They were taken to the hospital for medical treatment,” she said.
It is understood that the accident happened at a bend at Soasoa.
The band members were heading towards Namuka District School when the accident happened.
They have been in Labasa since last week when the Northern Duavata Crime Prevention Carnival opened in Labasa.
