THE Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Ioane Naivalurua officially opened the one week Protocol Training Workshop at the Suvavou House in Suva this morning.

The workshop was attended by 70 participants from the disciplined forces and the different government ministries.

Mr Naivalurua urged the participants to make use of the training.

“Take time to listen, enjoy, relax and make the most of it, and share amongst yourselves the various experiences you’ve had,” he said.

New Zealand High Commissioner to Fiji Jonathan Curr said the training would be based on how the participants are put into contact with diplomats, foreign dignitaries including VIP visitors to Fiji.

“This will help with increasing their understanding of protocol and how to manage in these situations with a deeper knowledge of the right kind of protocols, the right things to do in the right places and done in the right way,” he said.
