Training aimed at connecting vendors to ministries

THE United Nations Women Markets for Change Project (UNWMCP) training held in Labasa this week was aimed at connecting vendors to line ministries for assistance.

Training facilitators, Capacity Development Led Consultants (CDLC) undertook the week long training which ended yesterday.

CDLC’s Epeli Masi  said the workshop was a platform to train vendors on negotiation techniques and leadership because that is what the participants do every day.

“In partnership with UN Women we trained vendors on nine modules,” he said.

“The workshop also aimed to connect this vendors to line Government ministries where they can be assisted with their projects.”

Meanwhile a statement from UNWMCP said the training would strengthen capacity of Labasa market vendors to claim their rights through participation and leadership in market vendors association.

The statement said the training aimed at strengthening capacity of market vendor association executive committees.
