NINETEEN infringement notices were issued to businesses in Nadi that breached the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission Act.

The infringement notices were issued during inspections carried out by the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) in the Western Division this week.

FCCC acting CEO Seymour Singh said a total of 72 traders were examined during their inspections in Nadi on Tuesday.

“The traders who were issued with the infringement notice were found not complying with the FCCC Act 2010,” he said.

“Some failed to display price marking of items while others were found to be overcharging on price controlled items by FCCC.”

He said traders issued with notices would be required to comply with the FCCC Act of 2010.
