THE Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association is looking forward to the continuation of policies currently in place.
Association president Dixon Seeto said the group had been working in collaboration with the Bainimarama government over the past eight years to ensure the growth of the industry.
“We look forward to working with them again and with other stakeholders like Fiji Airways, Tourism Fiji and SOFTA (Society of Fiji Travels Associates),” Mr Seeto said.
He said looking forward, the association hoped certain requests would be taken into consideration.
This includes incentive programs and an increase in the $23.5million, a budget allocation received over the past few years to promote and market Fiji to tourists.
FHTA is also hoping assistance will be given to smaller operators so that benefits can be felt by a much larger population.
The industry also wants improved relations with employees – relating to the ERP (Employment Regulation Promulgation) as well as expensive taxation issues.
