Tough battle in business house bowling
1 October, 2014, 12:00 am
THE General Machinery-sponsored Lautoka bowling business house continues tomorrow at the Lautoka Bowling Club.
Hot favourites Bank of Baroda, 1Wood and FSC Team Finance are eager to continue from where they left off last week.
The sides are expected to face stiff competition as the game intensifies in the second round of competition.
Tournament secretary Jo Sarai said all teams would be out to win their pool for a chance to secure a spot in the knock-out stages.
He said the first round of competition was enough for all teams to gauge their standards in their quest to claim the top award.
Sarai said the top three teams from last week would face tough games this weekend.
“It will be interesting to see the rivalry in the second round of games,” he said.
“Only one team from each pool will qualify for the knock-out stages so we expect tough games on Thursday.
“All teams are gunning for the top award and the second round of games will be a do-or -die situations for all.”
The feature match this round is between 1wood and Fort 14 in Pool 7.
1wood with the services of former national rep Lema Matilevu, Raymond Singh and Ili Seru is expected to face tough battle against the former rep and evergreen Panipasa Matailevu’s Fort 14 team.
Dark horse Williams and Gosling with the services of Richard Eyre and Jona Koroitamana also stands a good chance of reaching the knock-out stages.
