THE iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) says it has followed the appropriate procedures to select its panel of surveyors.

Responding to concerns from landowners in the North who asked why there were no iTaukei surveyors on the panel, a statement from the board said as of now, the panel of surveyors tender was still open as far as they met the criteria set out in the Terms of Reference (ToR).

“The main purpose of having a surveyors panel was to push for cadastral titles for all its tenants as early as possible to minimise and eventually avoid and or eradicate lease encroachments such as double leasing,” the statement said.

“Several reputable land surveyors companies have become TLTB panel of surveyors and are supported by the Fiji Institute of Surveyors,” it stated.

The statement said the panel would provide TLTB a pool of readily available registered land surveyors; address the demand of titling of leases which demand timely cadastral survey; and establish professional relationship with registered surveyors as there were only limited numbers of practicing surveyors in Fiji.
