THE Fiji Times editor-in-chief, Fred Wesley, did not receive nor read or have any knowledge of the letter that was published in the Nai Lalakai on April 27, 2016.
Queens Counsel Marc Corlett said this while delivering his opening address of the defence case in the Fiji Times sedition trial currently underway at the High Court in Suva.
Mr Corlett said his client did not also authorise the letter.
He said the only time Wesley came to know about the letter was when he was arrested by Police.
The trial continues before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.
