Teenager guilty of burglary and arson

A MAN pleaded guilty to a count of aggravated burglary and arson before high court judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe yesterday.

The court heard that on March 13, 2017, 18-year-old Josaia Nawalu with another person entered the Ocean Bountiful Limited building at Wailada in Lami with the intent to commit theft and also set the building on fire.

The court told the accused that the total cost of damaged done to the building was around $55,000.

The accused admitted he was guilty after he was read the summary of facts.

Justice Rajasinghe will deliver his sentence on July 6.
