TEACHERS need occasional counselling sessions because of their workload.
This was highlighted by Dr Sitiveni Yanuyanutawa who specialises in physical and psycho-social rehabilitation and mental health and who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the National Council for Persons living with Disabilities.
While responding to this newspaper today, Dr. Yanuyanutawa said the current system was classroom oriented.
“In some unfortunate extremes, the majority of teachers often lack the emotional tools to allow them to move away from a reductionist and narrow approach to a more broader and holistic perspective,” Dr Yanuyanutawa said.
