TC Keni: Villager houses 18 adults and 23 children

Update: 7:07PM EIGHT families are safe at Namuana Village in Kadavu despite reports of about six houses being damaged by Severe Tropical Cyclone Keni this afternoon.

Namuana villager Sera Tukana said 18 adults, including one 70-year-old, two 84-year-olds, 18 adults and 23 children were evacuated to her house.

“The strong winds started here in Kadavu at about 3pm and we felt the impact of it for about one and half hour before it died down,” Ms Tukana said.

“We are all safe and the strong winds have passed us now.”
