TC Keni: Labasa river levels increase

Update: 11:32AM WATER level in four rivers of Labasa continues to increase following heavy rain currently being experienced in the area.
A weather report from the Northern Emergency Operation Centre revealed that water level in rivers of Dreketi Lailai, Labasa, Qawa and Wairicake are about five metres short from the critical level to cause a flood.
The readings were taken at 8am this morning and the emergency team has cautioned people living in low lying areas to move to evacuation centres.
Personnel from disciplinary forces including National Fire Authority are on standby for evacuation purposes.
