TC Keni: Cyclone advisory issued

Update: 8:53AM A CYCLONE advisory has been issued for areas in Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Beqa, Vatulele, Lomaiviti, Moala, Totoya, Matuku, Southern Lau Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands (Matanuku, Ono, and Galoa).
A Department of Information statement this morning said the whole Fiji Group must remain alert as heavy rain and strong wind warnings remain in place for the country.
Meanwhile, communities in Vatulele, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands (Matanuku, Ono, and Galoa) can expect destructive storm force winds with average speed of 100kilometres/hour and momentary gusts of 140km/hr.
Winds can increase to destructive hurricane force winds with average speed of 120km/hr and momentary gusts to 170km/hr from later today.
