While Tavua and Nadarivatu dominated the relays and long-distance respectively it was the boys from Ra High School who stole the show in the senior boys 100m and 400m final.

Zone president Jovesa Saqali said the competition was a success as athletes competed well in their quest to make their respective schools proud. He said the medals were spread out to all the 13 participating schools with Tavua College maintaining its status as the best of the four districts.

“The two days of competition was hailed as great success and I commend all officials, athletes, team officials, parents who turned out in large numbers to support the games,” said Saqali.

“We are confident that our athletes will give other schools a good run during the Coca-Cola Games.”

Saqali added the athletes would have to reset their focus as they prepare against the best from the other schools around the country.
