FIJI-born Seta Tamanivalu scored a try on his farewell to help his Crusaders side beat the Lions 37-18 and win its ninth Super Rugby title last night.
The Lions took an early 3-nil lead but tries to Tamanivalu and David Havili and two penalties to Richie Mo’unga saw the home side lead 20-6 at the break.
Cyle Brink, Mitchell Drummond and Scott Barrett secured the win with a try each in the second spell.
It is the team’s second championship under the guidance of Coach Scott Robertson.
Meanwhile, Tamanivalu will now join Bordeaux in France.
