FLYING Fijian Metuisela Talebula finally found his rhythm when he scored a try to help his Bordeaux-Begles team thump Napolioni Nalaga’s Clermont 51-21 in the France Top 14 competition over the weekend.
The 2013/2014 Top 14 top try scorer was in top form as he helped his teammates secure a six-try bonus point win against Nalaga and Noa Naikataci’s Clermont.
Playing on their home turf, Bordeaux played the overlap perfectly to put Talebula into space who then powered over the covering tackle of replacement Uwa Tawalo to score.
Nalaga also made his mark in the game with a blockbusting run to score a try but was not enough to win the game.
The Nadroga flyer was earlier denied a try by Talebula’s tough defence.
The visitors found some space on the outside before the ball reached Nalaga who looked certain to score his first try of the season.
However, Bordeaux winger Blair Connor scragged him before Talebula came across to knock the ball free. Talebula could easily have been penalised for tackling without using his arms.
Meanwhile, in other Top 14 games, Timoci Matanavou’s Tolouse ended their losing streak with a 22-10 win over Waisea Nayacalevu’s Stade Francais.
Lepani Botia, Sireli Bobo and Kini Murimurivalu helped La Rochelle to down Lyon 29-10 while Alipate Ratini’s Grenoble secured another win over Racing Metro 27-25.
