Update: 2:29PM IT was a race to the finish line for Manueli Sawailau of Ratu Kadavulevu School in the 800m junior boys final at the 2018 Coca-Cola Tailevu Zone competition.

The 16-year-old from Kabara in Lau made a comeback in the race winning gold for his school after coming fifth in the 400m earlier today.

The last 30m of the event was a neck-to-neck race for Manueli and his closest competitor from QVS.

However, he said he wanted to win so bad.

He dedicated his win to his father Takube Sawailau who is serving on peacekeeping duties in Sinai.

The Year 11 student is looking forward to the 4x400m this afternoon.
