FIJIAN swimmer Netani Ross has qualified for the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Argentina in October later this year.

Ross qualified after competing at the New Zealand AON Open Championship where he clocked a qualifying time of 27.60 seconds in the 50m Backstroke event.

Ross was part of the 4x50m Oceania medley relay team that won an Oceania bronze medal last week.

The 17-year-old SVC student had a previous personal best of 27.79s and considers the 50m and 100m backstroke as his two favourite events.

Ross has represented Fiji at the World Junior Championships, the NSW Australian States Championships, and the 2016 and 2018 Oceania Area Championships.

The Youth Olympics will be held from October 6-18 in Buenos Aires.
