THIRTEEN primary schools took part in the Suva Zone Two athletics competition at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.
Event manager Ken Kafoa said there were about 1400 athletes competing in a number of field and track events.
He was impressed with the competition among the schools that were part of the zone.
“There is a stiff competition between the schools taking part. The competition level has improved and that’s a good sign for athletics,” Dayal said.
Multi Intelligence School and The Learning Centre were two of the new schools that took part in the zone.
Dayal said The Learning Centre used to take part in the zone before and had returned with a bigger and better squad.
St Agnes Primary and Veiuto Primary are the defending champions in the boys and girls grade, respectively.
