Suva held 1-1

DEFENDING champions Suva Masters had to come from behind to draw 1-all with Nadroga veterans in the 2014 RC Manubhai/APCO Coatings Fiji International Veterans tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

Nadroga scored first through Savenaca Senikau and Suva equalised through Sakeo Verevou.

Both goals were scored in the first-half.

Nadroga had the services of brother and former national reps Masi and Patea Natasiwai and Kini Tubi.

Sitiveni Qarau and Patrick Wise spearheaded Suva’s campaign.

Three New Zealand teams and one team from the United States make up the overseas participation in the 12-team tournament.

The winner of the tournament will receive $4000.

Pool games continue today while the quarter-final will be played tomorrow and the semi-final and final will be played on Sunday.

The international veteran tournament was first held last year and now has become an annual event.

NZ Fiji FA INC, in conjunction with the Fiji Football Association, is hosting the tournament.
