VILIAME Suguturaga walked away $1000 richer after winning the professional division during the Dinesh Chand Invitational tournament at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club course in Nadi.
Suguturaga carded a brilliant two under par 70 to edge out favourite Sam Lee by one stroke.
Lee collected $750. Amitesh Chandra was third with even par 72. He received $540.
Kwom Doyeop won the men’s overall gross title. He scored 74. Mansoor Buksh won the men’s overall nett division with a score of 66.
Lee Hyewon took out the ladies overall gross with a score of 70. Anna Dunn won the ladies overall nett. She scored 66. Hae Sung Kim won the junior overall gross with a score of 76.
Chand who is based in Japan said he was ready to host more tournaments in the country to boost the sport.
He said next year’s invitational tournament would be bigger and better with more prizes.
A total of 120 golfers participated in the event.
The Mali Pest Control four person Ambrose event will be played at Denarau Golf and Racquet Club course on February 10.
