MORE than 40 students of Deenbandhoo Memorial School in Suva were urged to try their best and be passionate about whatever they do and be disciplined at all times.

Attorney-General and Minister for Education Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum stressed this while officiating at the awards night for the school last night.

The students were awarded for their achievements in academic and extracurricular activities – sports, mathematics and oratory.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum commended the students for their hard work and dedication towards school work.

He also thanked the teachers and parents because the students might not have been successful without their continued support.

Meanwhile, the school achievements in the first half of this year included first prize in Year 5 Mathematics national finals first prize, first prize in Hindi oratory contest organised by the Education Ministry and creating history by winning the U10, U12 and U14 soccer competitions.

Four teachers, including the head teacher Mrs Zafarun Khan, were also recognised and awarded for an excellent attendance to school.
