THE International Food Festival that will be held this month will showcase cooking talents of students and what they have learned over the past few months.
Organised by the Fiji National University, event’s organiser Aqela Cakobau said the main reason the festival was organised was to expose catering students and providing them with opportunities.
“There will be a lot of food and exhibitions. We will be providing an opportunity for a lot of people in Fiji to learn some skills in this sections, it’s more like showcasing their talents,” Ms Cakobau said.
She said a lot of activities would be held during the week-long festival.
With the theme ocean and river, she said people would be able to witness and taste the different style of cooking methods that would be showcased by the students and Fiji’s well-known chef Lance Seeto.
“We are expecting to have 10,000 to 20,000 people to attend the event and we hope that the number will grow every year,” Ms Cakobau said.
Digicel Fiji marketing head Sheryl Singh said this was a good opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and capabilities.
“This is something we are proud to be sponsoring and be part of,” said Ms Singh.
