THE diverse ethnicities that make up Marist Brothers High School were celebrated at a culture night at Flagstaff, Suva last night.

Performing to a sold out Lambert Hall, students from the three iTaukei confederacies — Burebasaga, Kubuna and Tovata — highlighted their unique traditions through songs, dances and traditional ceremonies.

Decked out in iTaukei ceremonial outfits, students delivered robust meke from each of the three confederacies and acted out solemn traditional ceremonies that are often held to mark specific events.

Students from other Pacific Island countries and ethnicities also showcased their culture through entertaining songs and dances unique to their communities.
