Students get vaccine tomorrow

Update: 5:18PM STUDENTS of a Tailevu school facing an outbreak of Meningococcal diseases will be given vaccines tomorrow, the government confirmed today.

A statement from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services said its teams would administer Meningococcal C (Men-C) vaccinations to students who had returned with signed consent from parents.

“The vaccination scheduled at the Navesau Adventist High School was initially scheduled to be held on 4 April 2018 as part of the Ministry of Health’s initial $10 million allocation towards combatting the spread of Men-C in Fiji,” the governments statement said.

“t was only due to the severe weather conditions caused by Tropical Cyclone Josie that the scheduled vaccination has been moved until tomorrow.”
