Update: 12.03pm JOURNALISTS have been warned they will be questioned by the military for any irresponsible reporting.

Interim Prime Minster, Commmander Voreqe Bainimarama said on Fiji Television that while he upholds media freedom any irresponsible reporting will be dealt with by the military.

Commander Bainimarama said he wanted media freedom because it lends credibility not only to the interim government but also to the military.

This week, Fiji TV's News Director, Netani Rika was taken to the military barracks and questioned over a story on the death of a Vanua Levu man allegedly at the hands of the military.

Daily Post Executive, Mesake Koroi was also detained and questioned by soldiers.
