Update: 5:33PM SIXTY two women students graduated from the Makoi Women's Vocational Training Centre this morning with certificates in sewing and embroidery, cooking and pastry, and hydroponics.

Centre manager Shazna Khan said each day she was inspired by those amazing women, their passion, their dedication and their courage.

She said it was an honour and privilege for her to be part of their eight-week journey.

Fiji Muslim League president Hafiz Khan said after today's graduation, they had graduated about 450 women from the centre.

"That means 450 families who have moved out of some form of difficulty and now have the ability to stand on their own feet. Today is International Women's Day and it's of greater delight and greater emphasis that we are able to empower these women," Mr Khan said.

Director for Women Selai Korovusere was the chief guest during the graduation held at the training centre at Makoi.
