Update: 4:20PM MEMBERS of various women's group in the North will now have the courage to stand up and speak out about their problems.

And especially so after they heard words of encouragement from other members of the group that shared about their life challenges during the International Women's Day celebration held at the Friendly North Inn in Labasa today.

Labasa Market Vendors secretary Mareta Tagivakatini said her past experience and challenges that she went through in life had moulded her to become a stronger person.

"I believe that women understand each other really well and in sharing our problems with each other would in a way help strengthen and encourage each other to move forward in life," Ms Tagivakatini said.

"We have certain challenges in life that helps build us grow into a much stronger person."

A total of 20 women were present at the celebration.
