NZ Police identify two found dead in Grey Lynn

Update: 4:15PM THE investigation into a Grey Lynn address where two people were found dead on Tuesday this week is continuing.

Auckland Police's Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Baldwin said the post-mortem examination and formal identification process had now been completed for the man and the woman who were found at the scene.

This afternoon, Police confirmed that the woman was that of missing Auckland woman, 39-year-old Tania Ellwood. 

The man who was also found deceased at the scene had been identified as 36-year-old Timothy Kerr Hamilton of Auckland.

Detective Senior Sergeant Baldwin said the pair were known to each other and Police were not looking for anyone else in relation to the matter.

"Police would still like to hear from anyone who may have seen or had contact with Tania Ellwood or Timothy Kerr after 11am on Wednesday, February 28," he said.

"Police are investigating this matter and are still working to establish what has occurred at the address."

He said the matter would be referred to the coroner at the conclusion of the investigation and Police were not in a position to comment further at this stage.

Both families have requested privacy from the media at this difficult time.
