Cessna 172: Macuata accords traditional farewell for crash victims

Update: 10:29AM THE vanua of Macuata accorded a traditional farewell for the Pacific Flying School's Cessna 172 crash victims and their families at the Waiqele Airport in Labasa this morning.

Led by Commissioner North Jovesa Vocea, a delegation from Government and the household of Bolatagane, home of the Tui Macuata, presented two whales tooth to the families. 

Mr Vocea said it was only proper that the victims were accorded the traditional farewell this morning. 

"I had spoken to the Tui Macuata, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, who gave his blessing for the event this morning," Mr Vocea said.

"The vanua and the people of Macuata are one with the two families in their moment of sadness."
