NAUSORI athletics heavyweights Lelean Memorial School and Adi Cakobau School are preparing well in defence of their champion status at the Triple N Zone to take place at the ANZ Stadium on March 15.

With the zone just over a week away, meet manager, Alifereti Tawake said he could not speak for the schools but knows preparations were on track.

While the event is scheduled for Thursday March 15 the long-distance 3000m event will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday March 14.

"The organisation of the games is going well according to our timeline. I am sure all the teams are preparing well," Tawake said.

He said the Triple N Zone was home to defending national high school athletics champions Adi Cakobau School and many schools were good contenders for national high school gold medal win.

"I am sure that teams like Waidina, Lomaivuna, Naitasiri and Wainimala will not be competing just to make the numbers," Tawake said.

"We do extend an invitation to the public to come out and support Triple N athletics."

Tickets for the event are $5 if bought from Sila Central High School but will be $7 flat at the ANZ Stadium on the day of competition.
