Nadi women celebrate International Women's Day

Update: 4:50PM MORE than 10 women's groups gathered at the Nadi Civic Centre today to celebrate International Women's Day.

Yavuna Women's Club member Sazimum Mainaaz Bi said women present at the event had a chance to learn more about the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

"We are women, we have a voice and we need equality," Ms Bi said.

"We need to be aware of our rights, we need to be treated equally because there is so much that we can do."

International Women's Day will be celebrated around the world tomorrow.
