A death spot

The pedestrian crossing at the junction of Ratu Dovi Rd and the Kings Rd at Centrepoint, 4 miles will be a fatal spot if nothing is done to it. I believe the authorities concerned should note that the light that directs traffic and pedestrians on both ends of the road are not synchronised.

I believe the light on the left is set on a different timer that when it is time for pedestrians to cross from the Water Authority end, the light from the Ratu Dovi Rd end still allows cars and buses to cross. So this means that the light is directing both the traffic and the pedestrians to cross the road at the same time.

Last week, I had to stop a car in the middle of the road, after it was directed by the light to cross while two elderly people were still trying to cross to the other end.

A number of pedestrians know of this technical glitch, and I am hoping that necessary actions are taken before it claims an innocent life.
