LAUTOKA football side has a good opportunity to feature in the final of the 2018 Oceania Champions League following the release of the quarter-finals draws on Monday in Auckland, New Zealand.

The draws revealed the path to the grand finale which offers a place in the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates from December 12-22.

The Vodafone-sponsored Lautoka side will travel to Tahiti to face AS Dragon in their quarter-final match. A victory there could see them face either Nalkutan (Vanuatu) or Marist FC (Solomon Islands') in the semi-finals.

Team Wellington will host Lae City Dwellers (Papua New Guinea) while defending champions Auckland City will battle Solomon Warriors which means that both the NZ teams, which have been dominating the competitions in the past years, will this year meet in the semi-finals if they win their respective quarter-finals.

Lautoka Football Association president Abdul Kadar said they were wary of the Dragon side.

"What we can see now is that all the best teams have qualified for the quarter-finals. Dragon is a pool winner of their group and we were the runner-up. We are not taking Dragon lightly. They are a better team and we need to focus on our training plans and other issues on how we can tackle Dragon," he said.

Despite the path to the final being a bit easier for Lautoka, Kadar said the quarter-finals would be their immediate focus. He also thanked the sponsors.

Lautoka beat Madang FC 3-1 and AS Venus 2-1 to qualify for the quarter-finals stage of the competition. Lautoka will face AS Dragon on April 7.
