AN agreement signed between the Australian Government and the Fiji National University, College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science will see a new established office for the associate dean of the region.

The Australian High Commissioner John Feakes said the Australian Government would cover the funding and support of the new office.

"Australia is proud to continue its long-standing partnership with the Fiji National University and its College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.

"As you are probably aware, the University's Medical College has produced a range of health professionals who have gone on to become leaders in the Pacific," Mr Feakes said.

"Supporting a healthy, productive pacific population is in Australia's interests and we continue to invest in health to enable participation in education and employment, and contribute to the region's growth."
