Church ministers' retreat

Litia Cava
Wednesday, March 07, 2018

CHURCH leaders need to continually reflect on their work and be continually empowered, says Methodist Church president Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa.

Mr Vakadewavosa emphasised this while opening the Methodist Church minister's retreat at Centenary Methodist Church in Suva yesterday.

He said the three-day annual retreat would enable church leaders and church stewards from the 58 divisions to openly discuss issues that they were faced with and the role of the church as a whole.

"It is an annual event, they come from the busy schedules that they have and for us to come together and pray, worship and discuss together the challenges they are facing in their own divisions and how we can discuss better way forward in the light of what they are doing," he said.

"Church members are faced with a lot of social issues and we discuss these issues during our retreat and when they go back, they can go and discuss with our members what we have discussed here."

The retreat will end tomorrow.
