Update: 2:27PM THE Fijian Elections Office (FEO) has confirmed that it has successfully allocated 1312 polling stations around the country.

And it is now in the process of printing contracts and distributing them to the respective divisional offices for signing by the applicants.

FEO director Corporate Services Sanjeshwar Ram said this process started today and would continue until March 23.

He said successful applicants would be receiving an SMS on their mobile phones advising them of the time and venue to sign their contracts.

He added those who failed to meet the election officials selection criteria would also be informed in the next two weeks that their applications had been unsuccessful.

Mr Ram made these comments at the contract signing of the first batch of 14 election officials in Suva today.
