FIJI's top squash men's player Justin Ho has pulled out of the 2018 Commonwealth Games because of the personal commitments.

This was revealed by the section manager to the Commonwealth Games, Dinesh Parmeshwar to this newspaper.

"He was preparing for the event in Australia, but he pulled out because of the personal reasons.

"The team started training from August last year for the Commonwealth Games as the players are also having their individual training in Nadi, Lautoka, Suva, and Savusavu."

Fiji will be represented by Romit Parshotam, Stephen Henry and Sailesh Pala in the men's category while Alison Mua is the lone female player in the team.

Parmeshwar said they had a series of trials and tournaments to select the players.

"Alison is the number one player of Fiji for the last two years and we are expecting her to do her best for the country. She is also the lone female player in the team of four. Romit had been a national rep for about 10 years and he is the most experienced player in the team.

"The team is preparing as best as they can and we believe the players would be competitive at the games and we are realistic with the expectation. They would be playing with the world ranked professional players."
