Tuesday, March 06, 2018

POLICE chief operations officer Assistant Commissioner of Police Maretino Qiolevu has confirmed that arrangements to bring the Cessna 172 wreckage have been made with the New Zealand private investigator Andrew McGregor yesterday.

ACP Qiolevu said investigations on the Cessna 172 crash at the Delaikoro Mountain range were still continuing.

"The wreckage is still up at the crash site at Delaikoro," he said.

"We have made arrangements with the New Zealand private investigator Andrew McGregor on bringing the wreckage down, other than that we have no further information, but we will try and give in more updates later."

In our early reports, burial plans for trainee pilot Merelesita Lutu and instructor Iliesa Tawalo who died when the plane crashed last week on Monday are expected to be done this week.

Emosi Lutu, father of Merelesita and Jowana Kauyaca, mother of Iliesa, said they would be buried this week.
