Food stall spices up team support

Maciu Malo In Las Vegas
Monday, March 05, 2018

FORMER Fiji residents Anesh Kumar and Jasveer Singh have been coming to the Las Vegas 7s tournament for the past five years.

The duo, together with their family members, however, are here not to cheer the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team, but they have been busy catering the Fijian fans with their delicious Indian dishes that are similar to those we have back home.

Their food stall sells goat curry, goat palau, nakai chaser, puri, masala tea, bajia fish and chips, etc..

Owner Anesh Kumar said the demand from the Fijian fans have been overwhelming which was the main reason he wanted to be part of this 7s festival.

"I have been living in the States for 30 years and this is the fifth year at this 7s tournament," he said.

"I know there will be many Fijian fans coming and I want them to taste something different compared with the usual food they have here in America.

'I want to give them a taste of Fiji and that is the reason I have been cooking all these Fijian- Indian dishes knowing they will love the food.

"And of course the response has been positive and huge."

Kumar formerly resides in Suva before moving to the States.
