KENYA exposed key weak areas to beat the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team 17-14 in their last pool game at Las Vegas yesterday.

The Kenyans attacked the ruck areas and won 15 rucks and turnovers which contributed to their win.

The Fijians, on the other hand, won three rucks and turnovers.

Earlier in the week, Kenya head coach Innocent Simiyu had predicted a win over Fiji.

"It was good and physical game and I am happy the boys stuck to the game plan," he said.

"We hit our performance target and we thanked God for the win.

"We said earlier we gonna beat Fiji and we had been planning well on how to achieve our goal. We just denied them possession and attacked them in the ruck areas and we executed that very well."

Fiji coach Gareth Baber admitted the side failed to protect the rucks which was heavily attacked by the oppositions.

"We got a little pressure in the 22m and spill the ball," he said.

Fiji's tries were scored by Paula Dranisinukula and Alasio Naduva with Amenoni Nasilasila and Vatemo Ravouvou a conversion each.

Kenya's tries came from Andrew Amonde, Collins Injera and Willy Ambaka.
