Used stuff

In a blink of an eye, second-hand clothing stores have mushroomed in the Sugar City similarly to those annoying weeds in a flower garden.

I hope Lautoka will not be categorised as a pre-loved or recycled city in the not too distant future.

Nishant Singh,

2018 election

I would like to thank SODELPA and the National Federation Party for picking the prettiest and maybe the smartest ladies to contest the 2018 election.

FijiFirst has also got two pretty ladies as ministers and I hope they can get some more pretty ladies in their line-up. Let's make this election like a Hibiscus Festival.

Sukha Singh,

Poll result

After 11 years of leadership, 34 per cent still not sure who to vote for in the upcoming election and 8 per cent refusing to answer says a lot about the future.

Dan Urai,

Tarsealed road

A month back, I witnessed a charismatic senior executive from FRA commenting on the Hibiscus Highway tarsealed stretch. He stated that the reason the tarsealed road ends at Kasavu and not stretched further on right up to Natuvu and as far as Napuka end was because the volume of vehicles is low.

Perhaps true in their one-day evaluation and scoping studies, but talk about the frequency of utilisation of the road 24/7 is another chronicle. Visiting health centres of Tukavesi, Natewa and Bagasau is the norm of the day, family gatherings, trading and distribution of goods and services from towns, and let alone paidar as the call of the day.

There are three boats steaming across to Taveuni every day inclusive of its land transport vehicles and more buses on direct route to and from Labasa etc.

There is Vishnu buses running daily. Indeed we want the same treatment as enjoyed by every Fijian. I remember quite well that old learned gentleman; "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." George Orwell, Animal Farm.

Navetau, Tunuloa

7s coach

I welcome the decision by GB to maintain the winning combo. These boys have put smiles on our faces and deserve more.

To Sir Serevi ... please just give enough tips to the boys. Too much and they get double minded as seen in past tournaments with you around, sir.

Once they lose ... you disappear. Please don't forget that GB is our coach. Respect that. Period.
