Major rehab works on Savusavu transinsular road

Update: 1:31PM ROAD users in Savusavu will now have no trouble travelling along the transinsular road after major rehabilitation work was conducted on the deteriorated sections of the road.

Fulton Hogan Hiways (FHH) is contracted by Fiji Roads Authority to maintain the unsealed and sealed road networks in the Northern Division.

FHH construction manager Scott Wilkinson said sections of this road needed structural repairs.

"This is when the road fails and it is posing a risk to road users. Some vehicles are forced to use the other lane just to avoid potholes, which was dangerous," Mr Wilkinson said.

"Motorists will now have a smooth and enjoyable ride, more importantly, it will be now safer than before."
