League match called off

Sunday, March 04, 2018

FIJI Football Association competitions department has postponed the Vodafone Premier League match between Suva and Tavua and moved it to a later date because of the poor ground condition at Garvey Park in Tavua.

The match was scheduled to be played at 3pm today.

"The ground is in bad condition to host a football match so we have decided to postpone the match to a later day," Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal said.

"We have not decided when the match would be played since the national league is going on a break from next week."

Pal said the league matches would resume on April 7.

"We have a busy schedule with the national team players also going into camp on Monday to prepare for the international friendly match against the Philippines later this month," he said.

"Fiji FA is expecting to finish the 2018 national league season by July."
